Mr. Ronald L. Farr, age 83, of La Grange, MO died Friday, April 26, 2013 at 9:40 a.m. in the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, MO.
Ronald was born October 16, 1929 in rural La Grange, MO a son of Richard Leslie and Crysie LuBelle Boltz Farr Sr. He married Mary Dean Forquer on December 18, 1951 in Quincy, IL. She died September 21, 2008.
Mr. Farr was a long time farmer and drove a school bus for the La Grange School and then for the Lewis County C-1 School District for a total of 45 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #170 of the American Legion and the Canton- La Grange V.F.W. where he was a past post commander. He was a member of the Wyaconda Baptist Church in rural Canton.
He is survived by two sons, Roland Farr and his wife Pam of La Grange and Robey Farr and his wife Sharon of Canton; a daughter Ronda Whitaker and her husband Tony of Lewistown, MO; seven grandchildren, Amanda Lay, Gregory Farr, Randy and wife (Amanda), Tyler, and Robin Farr and Douglas and Geoffrey Whitaker; four great grandchildren, Alyssa , Preston, and Peyton Lay and Carlene Farr; one brother, Robert Farr of La Grange and one sister Barbara Jean Steinkamp of Camp Point, IL; one sister in law Helen Forquer of Alton, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister Patty Farr, one brother Richard Farr Jr., two sisters in law Iline Farr and Jean Farr and a brother in law Eugene Steinkamp and a great granddaughter Reagan Farr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange with Rev. David Howald officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Wyaconda Baptist Church Cemetery near Canton. Visitation will be held Monday, April 29, 2013 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Wyaconda Baptist Church.
